Cherry Township is located in northern Butler County, Pennsylvania. The Township is very rural, consists of 25.9 square miles, and has a population of 1106 residents.
Cherry Township is part of the Moniteau School District, and busing for the School District is handled by Campbell Bus Company, located in West Sunbury, Pennsylvania.
The Cherry Township Road Department is responsible for maintaining 38.52 miles of Township roads, most of which are dirt and gravel roads. The Road Department falls under the jurisdiction of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, District 10, located in Indiana, Pennsylvania.

WAGE TAXES
A wage tax for persons working within Cherry Township, in the amount of 1% of earned income is also collected by Cherry Township. A $52.00 per year Local Services Tax for those working within Cherry Township is imposed, $47.00 of which is received by Cherry Township and the remaining $5.00 is received by Moniteau School District. Twenty-five percent of the Township’s share of this tax is paid to the local fire departments.
